As a Senior in high school, how can I prepare for a career in medicine?

Im starting my senior year in high school, and I'd like to pursue a career in medicine in college. My grades are excellent, and Im a ridiculously hard worker, so Im not looking for answers coaching me on the difficulty of medical school. I simply want to know what sort of prerequisites I need for medical school besides required pre-med courses (like volunteer work for example).
Id also appreciate information on applying for medical school, taking my MCAT, etc.
