Is it reasonable to be spending around $800-$1,000 on a first-time road bike? I am interested in getting into the exercise/beginning competition aspect of biking. I am on the fence between trek 1.2 compact and trek 1.5 compact How do I decide if I should spend the extra 200-300 dollars for the better bike (trek 1.5 compact)? Is it worth it?
