As a beginner, how much should I charge for a "freelance" job to design business...

...cards & a flyer? I have been given the opportunity to design business cards and a flyer for a local tattoo shop. My goal is to get hired on full-time as a shop manager. This is kind of a test by the owner to see what I can do.
How much should I charge for a first-time (probably one time only) design job? I want to make this worth my time, but still not overcharge, thereby decreasing my chances of being hired on as a full-time shop manager?
 
If you want to get hired as a permanent employee, do it well and do it free. If you still want to make some money out of it, a rate of $ 10 per hour of your working on that would be OK.
