I am a senior looking to go to an art school in Boston next year for photography. I have always wanted to go to the art institute of Boston, but once again money is a problem and I unless I receive a substantial amount of financial aid I wont be able to go. I was told to look into massart because it is very cheap and in the boston area. I have gotten mixed reviews about massart and I am not 100 percent sure that is where I want to spend the four most important years of my life. but massart being the only public school in the united states doesn't really leave me with much other options. I really want to go in the Boston area, particularly right in the city. It will be my only chance to live in the city because I know I will not want to live there when I am older and I live in an extremely small, rural town. I have found a few other art schools in the area but most of them are pretty small. I have not done that great in high school. as an underclassmen I did not really grasp the fact that school really did matter and my grades weren't a joke. as a junior i stepped it up and was able to raise my grades. as of now my gpa is a 1.91. I know, not very good. But I am a really good student this year, and compared to my freshman and sophomore years that is really good. I really do not want to go to a community college. Does anyone know anything about colleges in Boston? I would like opinions about massart and honest feelings about my chance of getting into college. thanks!
