I'm a golfer who loves art and wants to major in photography/graphic arts, and hopefully get a scholarship from golf. My issue is, do I go to AAU or a UC or CSU or one of the many regular colleges? AAU is in SF and is a private art school that has sports[golf is a new one] and will accept anyone, and they don't have the 2yrs of GE like reg colleges... BUT they have a high drop out rate, they're expensive, their campus is located throughout SF, their "dorms" are old school style kinda buildings and are kinda sketchy, I heard you should only take 4 classes because the work is hard and time consuming and you wont have much of a social life, and if you google to find out what people think of the school, you get mixed reactions. On the other hand you have reg colleges, like UCR where my sister goes, they have a golf team where I could get a scholarship, and they just redid their art department and built a new building, I would have my own apartment when my sister moves out after 1 year in the dorms, I would definately have a social life... but, I would have to spend 2yrs on GE with only 2yrs on my majors before they say good luck and I have to try to succeed,, I wouldnt get as much art exposure. So do I go to a reg college and get the hopeful golf scholarship and try to make it in the art industry with only 2yrs on my major[maybe i could study on my own on the side] or should I take my chance at AAU and be on their new golf team and study my major throughout the 4+yrs I'll be there, no matter how expensive?... I want to golf and I want to believe that reg college is the right pick, but I don't want to feel like I would have learned more at AAU and that going there would have put my foot in the door so I could succeed in the world. I need help picking through my thoughts to make the decision thats right for me and what I want to do in life.

Uni gives you a better education, but Art school is something you can choose about yourself. If you love art, then you should to art school, but if you want a good education and high achievements, then i suggest University.
Just do what you want to do, don't let random people on this website choose for you. :)
