Art fundraiser for student council?

I am thinking of speaking up in the next meeting about an art fundraiser where a student artist can draw their fellow classmates in there style and make it into a keychain if they'd like, or maybe even a poster. Would this be a good idea? $2 for each art requests and $3-5 for posters, buttons, keychains.
I'm a class representative if that'll affect my motion. Also, any fundraiser ideas?
