I got a letter yesterday by Arrow Financial Services claiming that I need to pay a debt of:

$5.00 BUT they will settle for $4.50

Are they freckin kidding me?! WHO are they? They say it was from a school called Ashworth University? What they heck? I never went there!

They want me to pay the debt in 3 weeks. Who the hell are these people? I am calling the school tomorrow and tearing into them!

Is this a damn scam?
 
Cute little scam....

Most people would not hesitate to send off the 4.50 just to get them off their back and so that they don't tag on any more fees.

Ignore it.... because what they really want is you making any comment in regards to this debt. Even a letter stating that you don't owe this but with your signature on it... can be used to copy your signature onto another letter stating you acknowledge a debt in the thousands...

Toss the letter and if they call tell them that they have the wrong person.

Nobody goes thru the hassle to inforce a $5 debt thru a collection agency or the court system.... They want your personal information and you will be smart and not give them a peep.
