My husband will be leaving for BCT November 2nd 2009. I have been debating about joining myself. I wanted to finish school (I want to be a cop) so I was thinking of joining the Army Reserve so I could go to college for criminal justice. I looked up a lot of things her eon yahoo answers and some on google and I kept reading people say that being in the Army Reserve has a higher chance of being shipped out, with less pay, and less school benefits. Is this true? Am I better off joining the Army and not the Reserve? I'm not worried about being shipped out its more along the lines that I want to finish school and be with my husband (recently married) a bit more before that happens. I'm looking for positive thoughts and facts on this please. Its a big decision and I don't need BS answers. Also, what happens if I get pregnant while enlisted in either Army or the Reserves? Again positive answers don't go telling me to get an abortion I would never do that.

Also I forgot to add that I wanted to know if we both are enlisted (either Army or Reserve) what are teh chances of us having a permanent base together? I know we can't be deployed together. Thanks again.
