Army Officers, please clarify- how much merit does the rumor that officers

are 'paper pushers' have? I am planning on applying to OCS but want a job that is active. The field doesn't matter that much to me- infantry, MI, etc. I just want to be doing something active rather than just signing the dotted line. So are these rumors exaggerated, as I am inclined to believe?

When i went for my interview, the Officer told me that Officer do a lot of paper work. You are responsible for all your subordinates and you have to sign all their documents.
