My husband, who was prior enlisted, went to the National Guard and then off to OCS. Now that he is a 1LT, he wants out of the guard and back to active duty. I contacted a recruiter and they informed me that they do not handle officer wanting to go back active. He is currently in Captain Career Course through the Guard but is on Active duty until end of Course, Which is 7 OCT 2009.
The only way I know how to do this is if he threw himself to the mercy of the IRR and really doesn't want to do that. We do know that he needs a release from the National Guard before anything can happen but then what....where do we go, who do we see and what do we do?
