Been doing some research on Army branching for officers and i've been told by some people that only west point and ROTC graduates get to choose the branch they want while OCS gets the leftovers. I'm guessing that the latter gets stuck with Finance or Chemical Corps positions and all the popular branches are already taken. If I do get selected to attend OCS after BCT I want to know.
1) does the jobs they alot vary from year to year?
2) would I be doomed to do nothing but sit behind a desk for X amount of years?
3) Is there a way to find out how many slots will be alotted every year for certain positions?
Also I do not mean to put down officers serving in those branches... its just that I do see it matching with my interest (Even though the needs of the Army come first)
