okay so I am going to be going to a community college soon. when I am done(1 or 2 years) I plan on enlisting in the National Guard under the College First Program . That will allow me to go to college for 2 years without having to worry about being deployed to get part of my Bachelors. I will have 2 years left. Can I then enroll in ROTC and not be deployed until Im commissioned(after my Bachelors degree)? Also how many years am I going to have to serve as an officer when I sign the ROTC contract? I plan on starting with a 6yr contract in MOS 11B(Infantry). Would school(4years) count as part of the 6yr contract and would I only have to do the remaining 2 years as an 11B Officer? If I am wrong please correct me.
If I really enjoy serving in the National Guard I may stay longer but I can't say right now.
I live in California if that helps. If California is not a good state to do this in then which state would be better suited(one near by please)?
