if i request one and am turned down, can i apply for one later on?

when i was 13 i bought about 5 to $600 worth of stuff on my moms credit card. (i know i know it was a rotten thing for me to do and i paid for it in many ways like this for instance and my mom having me arrested which i deserved and taught me a hard lesson and i have been making it up to her since.)the court said it was a felony charge as it stands, so they split it up into 5 misdemeanor charges with a year supervision. i recently tried to enlist but at the last second my juvenile record showed up and just like that i was shut down and did not quilify for a moral waiver. no one to blame but my young dumb self, however i am 25 now and would really like to serve. i know that the army is pretty well off with people now which is a good thing really just not for me. i just feel as though it would be a great regret to not have served and that i would carry it with me. i just wished there was a way to prove myself and not be judge off my actions more then 10 yrs ago. would i have a better chance getting in through the reserves or guard perhaps? you know get my foot in the door and prove myself from there and then try to go active after i serve that commitment. Any help would be much appreciated.

i am currently enrolled in college and half way through my associates. i know youll probly say to keep going and get my 4 yr but it is difficult right now financially getting my associates and was kinda hoping to use the army's schooling benefits to finish up with that. would a pardon from the govener seriously help me as well? not saying i could actually get one but just hypothetically. im still very commited to joining and will keep workin at it until they deem me worthy.

Any recruiters, especially army, i am really interested in your advice and thanks for taking your time to respond.
