I am attending boot camp here in a month at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. My question is with the relatively updated BCT is a recruit now required to GIVE and RECEIVE an IV while in training? I had heard this mentioned and wanted to see if I could clear it up. I have been clinically diagnosed with a phobia of IV's. Shots don't bother me to much but it took A LOT of mental preparation to make it through MEPS . Perhaps someone has recently gone? Any insight would be appreciated.

My hubby went though Leonard wood. He said he had to give and get an IV there. But he just went through a refresher course and had to give and get an IV again with his squad.

This is something you need to get over. There are far more important things to worry about in the army. While you are downrange, what will you do if you are the one that needs to save that fellow soldier's life?
