yep,and yep. considering the playing alot of sports stuff here and what you have described, i do think its time to just see your primary doc for a run thru of all your ROMS and more importantly a referral for a good MRI done on that rotator cuff area too. i was absolutely stunned at the huge level of real damage i had in my rotator and within that acrom joint too with bone spurring that was also kind of wearing away the bursa and the synovial sac only becasue the spurs can be rather sharp since they are boney and solid? but my worst was a badly snapped actually in half one morning tendon that i DID feel immediately, that was the supraspinatus that runs across the very top of the shoulder to the base of the neck? this IS also the MOST commonly torn of all tendons too since it gets the most abuse and wear and tear over time, and esp when we play sports like softball(did that for over 13 years myself too). it all does add up over time and basic use of the most mobile joint we just have within our bodies? its those tendons/ligaments that even allow for good amazing movements that our arms can even do. so when something goes down, you will feel it.
something is obviously not 'right' within that rotator area that will pretty much actually take a good MRI to even begin to see into it there. i just had no clue how bad that top tendon just was tho i knew i too had some types of 'shoulder problems' well before the supra just decided to finish off what HAD been only a tear that lovely morning. the tendon that is directly underneath that one there too had also started to actually tear as well only becasue it had to start compensating for the one that was badly torn above it? its like the domino effect, ya know what i mean? when one given area starts to 'fail" in our bodies, there usually are many different ways our bodies just kick in and will try and start compensating for the loss or damage to another area? its the way our bodies just 'are'.
but at this point, i would not simply 'settle" for any type of possible PT your doc could simply send you for(for some sick reason. way too many docs seem to just love to send people to PT without looking first??), not without that badly needed look inside your rotator area just to really 'see' what could be wrong there first. some people with some pretty serious tears/injuries get sent for PT with NO actual MRI ever really being done on them first, and end up really doing much worse damage to the area since the overall damage was already in need of some surgical repair from the very beginning. just get that one good MRI, then that will be your guide to whatever needs to be done next. there are just sooo many possible areas where a person can end up with actual tears or other mechanical types of problems within that whole rotator area that can only realistically be seen upon MRI. i do wish you luck with this and hope thingas are not too bad and easily fixable if therte. please let me know what you find out, K? and by the by here, ALWAYS make darn certain to always obtain your very own copy of ANY types of testing results, esp this MRI or any others? they are for many reasons just good to actually have in your possession. good luck flash, FB
