Argument regarding quitting smoking - Opinions?

Okay so. My fiance and I are in our twenties and have a beautiful 10mo old son. I have had some neverending bronchitis for the past 2 months, been treated with multiple antibiotics, and the doctor pretty much told me that my bronchitis will probably not go away unless I quit smoking cigarettes. My fiance and I each smoke, (not in the house or anywhere near the baby!) about a pack a day. I need to quit for my health, but can't seem to do it alone. My fiance doesn't want to be forced to quit. Here is my argument: If I was forcing him to quit just because, I could see his point. But I always thought that if it came down to my health (and that of our son, babies can still smell the smoke and possibly inhale chemicals off of your shirt) that he would truly quit. Well, he refuses. And I just feel so lost and abandoned because I thought he was a bigger person than that. I feel like he cares about his addiction more than me or our son. His friends side with him pretty much saying that I'm ridiculous. I need your opinions and guidance please.
