Argument between me and my Boyfriend. Got an opinion?

So me and my boyfriend got into an argument. Before I explain the issue; here's some facts about us. I'm female 25. He’s 22. We been together for almost 4 years and been living together for about a year. He hates having a beard. But I like him with a beard. We came to a makeshift compromise a few months ago and now his facial hair is longish (not quite as long as I want it but way longer than he wants). And I thought it was a reasonable compromise. But he still wants to shave it really bad. So this morning, we tried again to reach a compromise. He started getting upset during the conversation and says he really hates the way he looks with any facial hair. I don't want him to feel bad, but I really dislike him with no facial hair. Here's what I want your opinion on:

1) What sort of compromise should we come to?

2) Who do you think should have more say in how their partner looks? The person themselves or the person they're with? I know it seems like it should be the person themselves but you have to consider that you are WITH that person, most of how that person looks is for you. If I wanted to do something he didn't like I wouldn't do it cuz I think he should have more say. What do you think?

i think you should let him shave his beard because it's his face . and you should learn to compromise and love him without a beard . if you really love him , then you can love him without the beard .
