argued but still dating? ( question for couples )?

my friend had a fight with his gf one day when they were in the base ment he got so mad he said he rather be friends and said its over because he got so pissed , the minute after he said that they worked everything out and they still love eachother vey much and are still dating , has this situation ever happened to anyone u knew be4 ? because i notice some people say things out of anger and frustration sometimes
