Hello everyone,
I am strongly considering joining the Marine Corps and have been for quite a few months. Now there is one thing I'm a little worried about. I've read on here and many different places that you really really change after boot camp, I even read somewhere that you change so much your parents dont even know if they like you or not. I have a very crazy family, were very sarcastic and love to make fun of eachother. If my family wasnt like that I probably would have ran away years ago. We've been through a lot of shit and always stick together.
So I'm wondering, how much do you really change when you become a Marine? If its that much of a change I dont think I can do it, abandoning my family like that would seem weird.
Is it like that when you join the Army as well? I know a few soldiers and their really not that humble like some of the Marine I know.
Any advice would be great, thanks everyone.
