we're not getting a lump sum payment the way we did last year, since that obviously didn't help the economy any. instead, were getting a year-round tax break. less will come out of your check for withholding, something like $14 bucks a week. also, if you get laid off, unemployment will pay a bit more and you'll be able to get it longer. if you opt for COBRA insurance to make up for any health insurance you lost, the government will cover 65% of it for a certain period of time.
there are other things the stimulus will cover, but i can't remember off the top of my head.
