short, simple, hard played, politicly or socialy motivated, sounRAB like real punk rock to me, in spite of the fact the greenday has been one of the biggest poser banRAB of the last decade. I don't like them, but I can recognise what they are trying to do. Bad Religion is a real punk band, in spite of the fac that they are a bunch of self important assholes, who think thier brand of punk is the only brand. Never mind that Brian talks way to much shit, including about our local scene wich gave him his start. Still fits the criteria, even if I don't like them.

Tell me though, what do you think real punk rock is? I'm curious, because everytime somebody trys to call me on this, they've been wrong.

If you are really pissed, just throw chunks of sod an mud at them the next time they have a concert. I'm sure that they will get pissed again and leave the stage.
 
For me, punk has always been attitude, not totally specific to what the music sounRAB like..

You don't have to be a leftwing anarchist out to eradicate conformity and topple Bush to be 'punk.'

If you looked at me or heard me speak, you'd never imagine that I considered myself 'punk'..
