are there laws against posting advertisements on cars?

I was wondering what kind of laws there are concerning the putting of advertisement on people's cars? Ever since I moved into my new apt a few weeks ago, people have been putting advertisements on my car for summer work. I was just wondering if there are any law against them doing this or is it perfectly legal? The advertisements are business card sized advertisements with the information on them and phone numbers to call on the back.

PS. I am in Florida, I am sure laws vary by state. And may I ask if you have an answer to this question, could u please give details about what statutes you are referring to.
