are there good lounges in LA?

me and my boyfriend are visiting LA for a couple days...i dont think we should go to a club, because its just us two in a new city so it might not be fun..i was thinking a lounge or something? live music? spoken word? more so on the hip-hop side. we're 20 so it cant be 21+

i appreciate anyones help...thanks! =)
