are there forums for people into camping and walking?

I enjoy camping, but cant find others to go of for weekends with. Do any of you know a web group that maybe caters for people who like the outdoors and especially solo travellers who are not comfortable travelling alone and where maybe small groups could meet with each other. Im a mature student, so not interested in expensive membership type clubs!
Would just like to get chatting with like minded people all over the uk, though Im in Scotland.
