advantage against the rest of us? Most young adults fantasy books I read LOOK like it's an average person against dark porces, but it almost always turns out that the lead character was predestined in some way, or has some special affinity that supports their heroism. Can anyone think of a fantasy series (especially for young adults) where the lead character is completely and utterly human? All I can think of is Frodo, and technically he's a hobbit - and even then he has his uncle's exploits picking him out.
