Are there any stars powered by nuclear fission?

My answer would be no because for nuclear fission to occur, uranium is required but stars are hot enough to fuse hydrogen nuclei to form helium.

Is there a better answer/explanation?

Uranium is a rather rare element in the universe as compared to hydrogen. It is only produced in supernovae and dispersed. If it fell into a star, it would be far too diffuse to produce any significant amount of energy compared to the fusion of hydrogen that is happening in the star.
