flare their gills? I just want a fish which is brightly coloured territorial and is 3 inches or less and i don't want a betta,gourami,paradise fish or cichlid.
so let me get this Straight you want a fish that is colorful, and territorial and flares gills...so you want a betta that is not a betta....your out of luck here...if it looks and acts like a betta its a bettas...so i would just get a betta
Tiger Barbs in a group of at least 6 will fight for dominance in the school and they come in green and albino varieties. they don't flare gills though. thats just a trait that bettas have.
