custody/contact applications? A bit like fathers for justice but without the madness. Im looking for a legitimate responsible support group for men that is sensible and supports fathers who are trying to work within the courts system to gain contact with their children where the mother's are not enabling or promoting contact with the fathers, despite assessments saying that contact should go ahead??
thanks Haz, but is not as simple as that. There are lots of situations whereby a decisions has been made by the professionals involved that there is no good reason why the child should not be having contact with the father. However, due to the mother's indirect or direct affect on the child of the emotions involved, the child's wishes and feelings are that they dont want to see their father, so the case goes on for years, with the child getting more and more entrenched in its views, with the implicit, passive acceptance of the mother, thereby perpetuating the cycle. In this instance, father's still continue with their application but need support and advice, they often have no one to turn to, so I am looking for something for a client for this purpose.
Its also the case that courts will use little power to enforce parents to stick to contact, even more so when the child is saying 'I dont want to see dad'
