Are there any non-christian gay camps in Illinois?

I do not know of any Christian groups in Illinois, but I do know that hating yourself and changing your sexual preference is not going to work. You are blaming your sexual preference, which is naturally you, Instead try working on accepting yourself regardless of your eye color, hair color or length or any other thing you do not like about yourself. Realize your full potential as a human being and you will soon realize that your issue has nothing to do with your sexuality. Please, I encourage you to try counseling.

Why do you feel that way? Is it tough in Illinois to be gay? Are you looking for a camp to 'change' you? I'm not clear on what you are asking. If you are willing to try and understand yourself (and I looked and could not find such a camp in Illinois, but that does not mean they don't exist. Try and find one in a nearby state and call them and ask them or if you have a nearby college find their gay group listing and talk with them) Wish I could be of more help.

If you're feeling suicidal call 866-4-u-trevor (866 488 7386) They're an LGBT friendly suicide hot line. I suggest that you find a gay-friendly therapist to help you work through this. Homosexuality is a part of nature just like the wind and rain, and there's nothing you can do to change that. Ask yourself why you're upset with your sexuality. Is it because of your family? Society? Your sexuality is a part of who you are just like your hair and eye colour. And those things are nothing to be ashamed of, are they? Hang in there.
