Are there any laws requiring timely payment of wages ?

I was working as a lab tech over the summer, but they did not pay me for one week and they acknowledge this.

The payroll department does not want to talk to me directly, only through my supervisor....and they have stated this .

It has been a month since that payroll period ended and payout is 1 week after the end of the payroll period.

I live in Illinois, does anyone know the laws regarding this ?
 
In Manitoba, a worker has to be paid once every two weeks. If they have not paid you in a month, talk to them first and ask why you haven't been paid and ask for timely payment. If they refuse you can take legal action.
