Are there any famous authors who are/were college drop outs, or who didn't

attend college at all? Or filmmakers? I know that Quentin Tarantino dropped out of highschool.
 
H.G. Wells.......best-selling British author (dropped out to help family earn income; later returned and went on to college)

Leon Uris..........best-selling American author (Exodus, etc.) (17, U.S. Marines)

Jack London.......best-selling American author (dropped out at 14 to work; later gained admission to the University of California; left after one semester)

Faulkner: U of Miss. Dropped out

Maya Angelou
 
The only one I can think of is Stephen King. I don't think he ever finished college and i'm not 100% that he went to start with (or at least not for writing).
