Other options of fish that will breed in captivity fairly easily as long as you provide them with the correct conditions include:
Kribensis Cichlids
Bristlenose Plecos
White Cloud Mountain Minnows
and common species of Corydoras
You'll need a few tanks for them though as they cannot be bred and fry raised in one community tank. All above are egg layers, Kribensis and the BN Plecos have good parental care, the Minnows are scatterers and the Corys stick them to the glass/plants/rocks and leave them to fend for themselves.
