I am a new author and I write mostly short stories, though I am currently working on a novella. I have had no luck with publishing companies and am in need of an agent. I live in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
BEFORE you start contacting agents you need to learn the business inside and out. Check out My Starred Question and the links in the About Me section of my profile for information on getting published. Just from your question I can tell that you don't know much about the business. Agents and publishers are even better at noticing amateurs. Educate yourself *first* and you will seriously increase your chances of finding an agent and getting published. The first piece of information about publishing that I'll give you is that geographic location is NOT important at all. With phones and email your agent or publisher could be in England.
