My very first car was the first Honda Civic, and I loved it. I am a musician , so I need a hatchback to carry around my guitar, harmonium , amplifier, etc.....I drvie to and from Montreal every week, an hours drive to Rawdon, so I need something that is econimical on gas. Ive spoken to many mechanics and it seems that two of the best hatchback cars on the market , for economy , quality, ease of repair, is the Toyota and Honda. V W Golf, Subaru and Mazda were also mentioned to me, but out here in the country there are few V W mechanics and I have heard that Mazda parts are very expensive. Subarus dont seem to be as commen, at least not so many for sale under $ !0,000 out here, which is my budget. A localdealer is selling a Honda Fit 2007 Manual transmission, for $ 10, 845. When I told the rep that I only had $ 10,000 to spend , he said that probably his boss would drop it down to that price for me. I need to kknow if I should go with the Honda Civic or if the Fit is better or an improvement over the Civic hatchback, or if there is anything I am overlooking or not aware of.
