Are there a way that I could run a business and get paid if I hold a H4 visa?

I am wondering if there are a way that I could run a business and get paid if I hold a H4 visa. I saw someone said the one who hold a H4 Visa cannot be paid unless he or she chang to H1 or F1. if I want to run a business by myself or with my friends, do I need chang my visa or not. thanks
