Are the Wii weather and news channels supposed to work?

When I try to access them, it tells me I need to perform a system update. When it goes to do that, it tells me my Wii is up to date. I have tried this several times over several days. Should this be working, or are the channels not available yet?

not yet. End of Dec. to Jan. is when they are supposed to be up and running.

I was wondering about these channels too, just figured it was something that wasnt out yet.

Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to have something that is out before extra features are completed.

ok, glad to hear that there is nothing wrong with my Wii. it would be nice if it gave us a message saying that the channels were not yet available.

I really wish they'd give a date on Opera for the Wii.
