Are the two cooling fans in my 2004 dodge caravan supposed to both work at the same

time? -What could be the problem if they are supposed to both work at the same time, and they do not?

-Yesterday one was working and the oher was not, and I got the other one to work too, but it stopped.
 
Yes both should be working you should get it checked especially if your van is running hotter. Seems like a wire or a relay and should be a simple and cheap fix.
 
both should be on if the temp is up and the ac is on. one is for pulling air across the ac condenser, otherwise it will not be on. It should only come on when th ac is on.
