This is not meant to be offensive. I'm curious. People in R&P say The Clash is better, and I'm sure that's true, since they're "The Only Band That Matters." Nevertheless, The Sex Pistols are referred to as the "Fathers of Punk," or something like that. I'm beginning to get acquainted with Classic Punk/New Wave, already having loved The Clash, The Police, and The Ramones, and I want to hear more. They're considered an essential, but what is your personal opinion?
BQ1:Why are they called The Sex Pistols? Is it the obvious reason I'm figuring it is, or is it actually something intellectual, or both?
