Are the parts for a lexus is expensive and is a lexus hard and expensive to maitain ?

Or is an acura tsx harder and more expensive to maintain. My dad says I should get a toyota he has one a truck I rather get an acura tsx I drive an 1996 acura 3.5 rl I like it alot I just want to get a newer car I reseached acura I feel it is good in safety and drive. But if I don't get that I will get a lexus IS.
