I was diagnosed with ADD last year, and, though at 16 which was extremely late, gave me Adderall trying to make it work. Other than getting high the first day, from it hitting my system the first time, my GPA jumping from 1.6 to 3.25, and allowing me to do things faster and more accurately, it began to get weak. I was just taking one 10mg pill and, after losing 15 lbs and getting used to the side effects, received two pills a day. Eventually, two months or so afterwards, Adderall began to become useless and I couldn't feel the effects much anymore.
Then they put me on strattera, one pill a day. The effects were bupkis, other than the weaker prescription letting me focus less than with the Adderall, and my grades slipping a bit. So my doctor began to consider I may have something else wrong, as even with the Adderall a few mental effects remained (like I'm not fully conscious, or in the moment, ever), and called a specialist. Since the doctor then left on vacation, one of his partners at his clinic checked my file and gave me Vyvanse because my prescriptions were out. Mom thought it was the thing the doctor mentioned, but we're still not sure, and after a huge amount of money spent (let's just say half of the family went to Australia, another two to Hawaii and one to Florida lol) we have absolutely no money left for a CANDY BAR, nonetheless an expensive prescription, so mom's keeping me back from the doctor.
Other than the fact that Vyvanse is almost completely useless, even compared to the others, a few things have been happening lately.
I've developed a much, much shorter temper.
Way more sensitive to light- I cover up the standby lights on my laptop with socks it's so bad. And I'm screwed on nights with a full moon lol.
Whenever I get a break from the chaos of normal life, I notice a headache all of the time.
Constantly tired, no matter what.
Sick stomach twice a day or so, nauseous, and unable to focus at ALL. Daydream 90% of the time now lol.
I just feel sick a lot, sick stomach, shaking even after I've eaten, and I got sick a few weeks ago with a common cold and my nose WON'T STOP RUNNING now.
Are these all effects of vyvanse, or is it just because my body has been switching between so many meds?
