Are the Democrats in Congress making the same mistake they did in 1993 with this...

lets HOPE why should i pay for the loser down the street living in a hud house, all they do is sit out front and drink a 40 while smoking a menthol

Democrats are ruining their chances of holding on to the majority. I hypothesize that the Republicans might actually make a very big comeback especially in some states they were once strong in and lost like Colorado, Indiana and Ohio for example.

umm which mistakes?

And how do you honesty believe it is the same proposal, when anyone who has actually studied it knows that it is vastly different?

"""lets HOPE why should i pay for the loser down the street living in a hud house, all they do is sit out front and drink a 40 while smoking a menthol"""

because you already do anyway at a much higher rate, in a capitalist system, when the business raises your prices to recoup their losses.

The only mistake they made was not putting together a UNIVERSAL health INSURANCE bill without trying to play nice with the reactionaries of the GOP and the folks in Washington that stooge for the health insurance mafia. The current Republican party staggers and has a bolt in it's neck and to the extent that it's alive at all it's dangerous to itself and others. The American public needs a 21st century public, non-profit health INSURANCE venue that exists to pay the bill of those that it insures....not to line the pockets of unelected middlemen. None of the out dated, retched arguments put out by the right wing radio dummies and repeated by the ditto head clowns they cater to has a single atom of validity. It's disgusting that an entire political party would suck up to an industry that makes a living denying valid claims, over charging their customers and slipping millions of their insureds premium dollars to politicians. ..premium dollars that should go to pay claims. God help the working class if these weasels ever get their hands on the power and authority of 'OUR' government again. Screw 'em and the big white horse they rode up on!

Not a chance. Have you seen the polling on the seats up for grabs next year? It's not looking good for Republicans.
Healthcare reform is absolutely necessary and several key Republicans are squarely on board

What mistake do you think that was? I'm curious.

Most Americans and most American DOCTORS want national single-payor health care. This bill does far less than that. The people screaming and foaming at the mouth over this bill are insane, stupid, or both. It's not only a moderate bill, it doesn't go as far as most of us want it to.

As for the Republicans, no, they have no chance of gaining a majority in the House or Senate. Have you been paying attention at all to what's been happening? Have you seen the voter identification surveys? Demographics do not favor the party of loud, stupid, caucasian religious extremists.
