Are the art institutes worth it for video game artistry?

Im looking into becoming a video game artist. However im still unsure which schools would be worth the time and actually lead up to a career with their educating. My question being are the art institutes worthwhile? I feel the schools that advertise so heavily in media aren't worth it am i wrong ?
