The garage is going to install the whole rear end out of a 94 Ford Ranger 6cyl 2wd 5speed in our 94 Ford Ranger 3.0 6cyl 2wd 5speed today and I need to know if the gear ratios are the same I know ours has 3.73 gears dont know what the 4 cyl has. If it happens to be 4.10 gears will it cause the truck to burn more gas it has standard size 14 in. size tires on it and it is used mostly for hwy driving. Anyone know for sure? Please reply soon .Thanks very much!

My 84 4X4 Toyota Had 4:10 Now I have a91 4runner 3.o V6 Automatic 4 :1o also!! The 84 had a 22r 4 popper & a 5 speed manual Both are 4X4s!! 3:73 To 4:10 will make a difference You will have better take off higher rpms at cruising speeds, But I Dont think it will hurt gas mileage that much,
Also depends ho you driv e it
HOPE THIS HELPS

I would assume that the shop doing the work would be installing the same ratio as stock (3.73). Trucks can come with the same ratio (for different motor size and/or trans). TO calm your concerns call the shop and verify that the ratio is the same.

Wow. Good question. Umm....It could be the Flux Capasitor. not registering 1.21 Jiggawatts.
