Mustangs have always been reliable, but people absolutely abuse them and mod the hell out of them. I owned a 10 second turbocharged 99 GT so I know. If left alone, they have very few problems. As far as the Camaro, it's new, great drivetrain, but I'm not crazy about the back. I like it, but I would get a 08 - 09 Corvette before I would think about the Camaro. Imagine the same power, but with 600 less pounds and tons better handling. Looks only go so far and I never enjoyed watching the other guys taillights fade away.
Not to mention, I would be scared out of my mind to buy the first year of the new style after 8 years until atleast a few people have put 30-40K miles on them. The Mustangs look awesome and a few mods on the 3V and it can be nasty.
