...the do not call list? Girl called--talking about lowering credit card interest rates. I politely ask to be put on the do not call list she had the nerve to try and argue with me--kept saying "I'm not a telemarketer." and "Why don't you want to hear what I have to offer?" Of course she's a telemarketer! Finally hung up on her in frustration and tried to call the number back--surprise, surprise--it was spoofed. So, not only a telemarketer, but a scammer to boot--a legitimate company wouldn't hide their phone number. These people are evil. When you ask to be put on the do not call list--I don't think that the telemarketer is allowed to argue with you, are they?
Not true, Dylan--telemarketing companies must still keep their own do not call lists.
Dylan and Geegee--given that this company is spoofing their number-a clear sign that they are up to no good--I would probably still get the call even if I was on the Federal DNC list. That being said, the federal list doesn't nullify other laws stating that each individual company must keep their own do not call list. I checked.
