i was sexually assaulted about 6 yrs ago when i was around ten or eleven. it was not my father or anyone i knew. a total stranger. the police dealt with it. ive been confiding in one of my teachers alot and sometimes i just vent. if i told her about the assault (since it has been bothering me a lot lately) does she have to report it? either way, how would she react hearing it?

Well, your teacher would help you out with your problem, but I don't think she would report it since it has already been dealt with the police.

Not if it was clear that it was a total stranger six years ago, because you would no longer be in danger. A teacher would certainly have to report any current abuse that was going on, or recent attacks by someone in a position to attack you again. How she would react would depend on what kind of person she is and whether she thinks you are still troubled by it. She may talk to your parents about getting you counseling, if she feels you are feeling a need to talk about this, because she isn't trained to handle it at that level herself.
