...administration? I'm currently a Spec Ed teacher (CA cred in Mild/Moderate), and I've been thinking about getting an administrative credential/masters in education. Eventually becoming a secondary school VP or Principal is an interest of mine. My question is...does being a Spec Ed teacher put me at a disadvantage for getting into solid administrative programs/jobs after graduating? A lot of the job I'm sure has to do with curriculum, classroom management, etc, but as a Resource Specialist in a district pushing for full inclusion, I focus more on IEP paperwork and collaborative push-in/small group support. Any ideas or advice? Thanks!

Individual districts may have a preference, but overall there is no disadvantage. Look at how many coaches and PE teachers go into administration. The administration program will cover curriculum, state standards etc. I was a special ed teacher for a few decades before I made the move to administration. I found my background was very useful.
