Taxes is not what makes a ecnomy good or bad. It is spending & the inequality of wealth & income.
The idea of giving more money to the rich is moronic. That is not why the GOP has support in their party.
It is not small government, if you look even before the economic crises the party only says it. With their party (with the trillion dollar bail out) running to the government. The republican party brought that and because of deregulation and keeping the interest down for 8 years, with corruption it caused our country to be socialist and nationalist.
Fiscal responsibility, Not with a 9 trillion dollar deficit and borrowing money from China on a daily basis.
The only thing that is left is traditional value. What is the tradition. Unfornately, the GOP, is proud of the fact that this land was taken from the American Indian and killed then told where to go (while making them the bad guys). The enslavement of Blacks, still making a profit and not having to pay the cost (again making them the bad guys). Now let's bring it in the present. Iraq, invading a country on a lie and trying to take their oil, without paying, of course it did not benefit us (again making them the bad guys). The GOP uses ppl as tools with fear mongering and the IDEA that they will have a better standard of life because they will keep the "bad ppl" down and that if you vote for them you (the real American) will have a job, you won't have to work or be qualified but we will hire you and the "bad ppl" will work at a signifcantly smaller amount.
That real American doesn't like to pay for what the have. It is called Cowboy politics. When the real American start not having they then blame it on "affirmative action" and welfare.
All along the rich gets richer BUT only because they use fear & division in our dear mixed up country.

No, because Republicans tried to fix the whole Fannie Mae and Sallie Mae fiasco but was thwarted from Democratic leadership that said everything was alright; there is Senate hearings video all over you tube which proves this beyond a shadow of a doubt.
