Are Sitcoms filmed in front of an audience or it's just a laugh track?

can't even imagine how actors can concentrate with an entire live audience laughing histerically.
Or are the episodes shown after filmed at an audience and record their laughs?
Anyway in some children shows like iCarly or Hannah Montana i can hear the same laugh track always.
LOL i have this doubt since always, i know it sounds ridiculous.
