I mean, there are actual ... FACTUAL ... things that Republicans do that seem to say they are NOT friends of our troops ... but only friends of the MIlitary Contractors. For Instance....
-- Our troops WON the war in Afghanistan ... they kicked out the Taliban. But then, Bush/Cheney CHANGED the purpose of the mission into NATION BUILDING. That kind of policy can go on forever - and the winner is Military Contractors.
-- Republicans Bush and Cheney strong armed the CIA to invent a WMD threat to invade Iraq. When they found none - they changed the purpose to overthrowing Saddam -(because Saddam Hussein was about to end all oil contracts with the USA)-. Now, it's just another endless Nation Building scheme.
And while the Bush/Cheney administration bungled these wars - using our troops as cannon fodder ... here is the war that Modern Republicans were waging against men and women in uniform stateside....
- Republicans voted down a 'one time' bonus that was submitted by Democrats to help defray the cost that servicemen and women were enduring from those 'extended tours' - you know - because the war didn't end in the 6 months Dick Cheney said it would.
- Republicans voted against an expansion of Education Benefits for returning soldiers. This bill was sponsored by Democrats because it became apparent that due to (again) extended tours of duty, men and women returning from Iraq were finding they had no job.
- While Bush was asking our men and women to stay in Iraq for these extended tours of duty - he CAPPED cost of living increases for our soldiers at 2% - the LOWEST such increase in 20 years ... (but interestingly he allowed increases of up to 4.1% for officers)
- Republicans Voted Down a proposal to increase the benefit from $6,000 to $12,000 to families of soldiers who die in combat.
- But most Morally Vacant of all - was the Republican vote to CUT IN HALF - funding for Head Trauma Centers - at the very time - when Head Trauma from IED's were causing a huge increase in Head Injuries to US Soldiers.
These are the facts as to why I suspect people will admit that Modern Republicanism is actually ANTAGONISTIC to the health of our American Soldiers.
I suspect that people will say that Republicans today have an Ideological loyalty is to the MILITARY CONTRACTORS - - - - NOT to actual service personnel - you know - the men and women in uniform.
I suspect that this is the reason that soldiers overseas donated to the Obama presidential campaign over the McCain campaign by a 6 to 1 margin.
But of course - Modern Republican Legislators could not care less who our soldiers donate to --- they ALREADY get MILLIONS from Military CONTRACTORS - - -
But I'd still like to hear what others believe.
So - considering the TRUTHS above - who do YOU think is the better friend to our men and women in the armed forces?
Modern Republicanism - anti-Soldier ... anti-Honor ... anti-Traditional Values ... anti-American.

Actually, noooyawke ... I HAVE talked to men and women in the military. They tell me that if you voice opinions not shared by FOX Addicts - - - the Rupert's Robots tend to bully you. This shouldn't be a surprise ... just look at the righties on YA. So full of hatred for our nation ... and for fellow citizens. Well ... in the military ... these folks have guns.
And I'm not a Liberal ... I'm a former Republican who is sick of Right Wing Crass Scum.
